Background to disclosure:
In several previous tax years, I failed to pay the full amount due for estimated tax payments before the end of the year. An installment agreement for all previous tax liability in these years has been established and is current.
Tax liens for amounts being repaid have been filed in these years in order to protect the government’s interest. As a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner, any existence of tax liens violates the Standards of Professional Conduct as conduct that “reflects adversely on his or her integrity or fitness as a certificant, upon the CPF marks, or upon the profession” and is grounds for public censure.
Public censure includes disclosure to clients and proving the link to CFP Board’s disciplinary history describing the circumstances and events.
